AM. Cycle/MTB 36km, steady easy, HR108(158)
We’d decided to do this off-road TrailBreak sportive, it wasn’t too far away and I was curious to see what trails they’d use. Lovely sunny morning, if a little cool, and the trails were quite dusty in places. On one tricky descent we caught up with one group that’d had a bit of a crash. Jules stayed on the trail to help with the first aid and I rode to the bottom of it to wait for her. The crashers were OK though and as far as we know finished the ride.
We stopped at the halfway drinks station (whichwas little more than a couple of barrels of water at the side of the road for you to help yourself) for a cake bar and a rest before tackling the rest of the route. It clouded over by the end, but we’d had a good morning out. It was nice to explore some new areas not too far from home. We stopped for a cup of tea and a pastie at the school HQ before heading home. My pictures: Flickr.
Spent the afternoon dossing about in Abindgon.
