Travelling home

Rest day – driving home from Nurenberg.

After breakfast and checking out, we headed for home. I struggled to push the clutch pedal down in the car, my ankle was incredibly painful, but we had a good run in the car, managing the 510 miles in just over 6½ hours including two stops, one for a bit of a picnic. It was great to stop at Calais and stick my left leg up in the air, let the fluid drain from it, while waiting for the return ferry.

We eventually rolled home just before 9pm. I had a quick shower and we watched a few stages of the Tour over a beer with my ankle resting on a packet of frozen peas.
