Cycle 108km – Harlequin Hack audax

Cycle 108km, Harlequin Hack (, steady easy, HR 121(148)

This was Jules’ first audax, and the longest day ride she’d ever done. Setting out at 9:30am it was still pretty cold and I was feeling distinctly underdressed. After a steady few early miles we warmed up over the climbs to Chipping Norton and the sun came out. We picked up a nice tailwind to Uffington, stopping at the village green in Aston for a mid-way cereal bar. In Uffington village hall there was an excellent spread of tea and cake to fuel us for the last hour in the sunshine back to Northmoor. Jules did the ride very well and we went out for a curry when we got home, to celebrate. It had been an excellent day out on the bike.
